It all depends on how and where you’re wearing them. A closer fit helps lock in warmth, wick away moisture and avoids extra bulk, perfect if you’re out on a frosty walk. A looser fit can feel more relaxed and breathable, making it a cosy choice for everyday wear at home.
Your thermals should feel snug without being restrictive. They need to sit close enough to your body to keep the cold air out and the warmth in but still give you freedom to move comfortably. Think of it as a gentle hug, not too tight, not too loose.
Yes, thermals are designed as your base layer. You simply pop your usual clothes on top, followed by a cosy coat if you’re heading outdoors. Here’s how layering usually works:
Layer | Clothing Example |
Base layer: | Thermal top, underwear and tights |
Mid layer: | T-shirt, jeans and jumper |
Top layer: | Coat |
This way, you’ll feel warm, comfortable and ready for any weather.
For colder days, we recommend our grade 3–5 ladies’ thermals. Each grade is designed with the season and activity in mind, so you can choose the perfect layer of comfort.
Grade | Activities perfect for | Season |
3 | Chilly summer evenings after a family BBQ, autumn morning walks with the dog | Summer & Autumn |
4 | Brisk winter shopping trips, cosy evenings at home | Winter |
5 | Outdoor adventures in frosty conditions, snow days or festive markets | Deep Winter |
