PROTECTING THE
ENVIRONMENT
We’re constantly aiming to reduce our impact on the environment. That’s why we’re reviewing Damart’s operations. We’re focusing on a more environmentally conscious approach. For you, for us, for better fashion.
REDUCE OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
Damart's commitment to the environment
We’re constantly looking to reduce our impact on the environment. That’s why we’re rethinking all the company’s operations, and the way we work. We’re focusing on a more environmentally conscious approach. For you, for us, for better fashion.
We’re all aware of the impact greenhouse gasses have on the climate. At Damart, we measure our carbon footprint to assess where we can make improvements and be more efficient. Our goal is to reduce our emissions in line with the Paris agreements.
Thanks to new software we can collect information and monitor our Climate strategy. Now the carbon footprint for our activities will be measured year on year.
2022 was THE year to fight against climate change within the business. The next step for us, is to build a low carbon strategy, as well as monitoring the results thanks to the new collaborative tool. Our ambitions for Damartex are to reduce the footprint by 25% in 2025 and 50% in 2030.*
Protect forests
Protecting nature is important to us. To get one step ahead of the legal regulations, we decided to use paper sourced from sustainably managed forests for all catalogues and mailing since 2017.
Preserve the oceans
Plastic pollution is highly damaging for both people and nature. In line with our Change the World ambition, we committed to ban all single use plastic by 2025 in all our products, catalogues, mailings, parcels, gifts and in-store packaging.
Create differently
Different raw materials and manufacturing processes
We’ve committed to more eco-friendly fashion and to reducing our impact on the environment. To achieve this, every season, we’re developing more environmentally friendly pieces.
These include:
• Recycled fibres
• Certified products
• Essential products in natural materials, organic cotton or those using less water and energy
• Lenzing Ecovero ® and Livaeco ™ viscose
• In 2022, 26% of our Thermolactyl pieces were made from recycled fibres
Fight against waste
Fighting against waste means reducing our waste and pollution. To achieve this, we’re finding ways to give a second life to items that aren’t sold or are second-choice.
We give these items to other organisations and charities where they’re reused or recycled.
We’re looking to achieve zero waste of our items. Anything that can’t be sold at full price is sold at a discount or given to one of these charities:

The Damart team loves innovation and has been working on recycling our Thermolactyl fabric. This is one of our key products and biggest sellers. To design and manufacture Thermolactyl underwear, our processes use technical mixes with high added value .
To help us reuse waste material gathered during production, we conducted some recycling studies. We needed to find ways to reuse them rather than send them to landfill. We carried out tests on the Hollywood mix to determine how to change them into something else or assess their recycling potential.
